More about
Sherborne School
‘Dieu et mon Droit’
Founded by King Edward VI in 1550, Sherborne School is a leading independent full boarding and day school for boys (13-18 years). Sherborne School merged with Sherborne Prep in 2021 and its unique and strong partnership with Sherborne Girls offers the best of both worlds: single-sex education with social, co-curricular and academic collaborations. Shirburnians are kind, compassionate and we aspire for our boys to make their mark on the wider world. Sherborne is a strong community and lies in the beautiful Dorset countryside with a direct train to and from London Waterloo.
Sherborne School has eight boarding Houses and opens a state-of-the-art new Sports Hall this year. Among its notable alumni are Hugh Bonneville, Jeremy Irons, Chris Martin, Alan Turing and Tom Bradby. ‘Sherborne Forever’ is the message of its award-winning Old Shirburnian Society; once a boy joins the School he forges friendships and is part of a network like no other.
